35 South History

35 South, based in Des Moines, was formed to establish a strong “Southern Rock/Texas Blues” presence in the central Iowa area.

Lead singer BoCletus was raised in the Carolinas and brings some good ole’ red neck home cooked vocals that’ll make you think Mr. Van Zant himself jumped outa the grave.

All five members are seasoned musicians who have honed their chops in various rock and blues acts, such as:

• The Mookie Byrd Blues Band
• The Athletic Supporters ( former house band on Keith Murphy’s “Sound Off” on WHO TV13 )
• The Mud Puppies
• Cross-Eyed Mary
• Velvet Jones and
• Against the Grain.

As should be obvious from the song list this band butters it’s bread south of the Mason Dixon line and runs on cornbread, hush puppies, and moonshine.

And lest I forget, 35 South is sponsored by Budweiser the official beer of NASCAR.
